There's a killer but there's no heat in this tepid noir whodunit. It's based on Jo Nesbo's short story "Jealousy Man" and naturally titled...you know what. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, an experienced actor, is miscast as Nic Balli, the private detective summoned to Greece to investigate the death of an identical twin, Leo Vardakis (Richard Madden). An older actor would have instilled more grit in the role of Nic, improving the story.
Madden is excellent in the roles of the twins, Leo and Elias Wood. Madden who was very good in Game of Thrones, The Bodyguard, 1917 and Rocketman subsequently appeared in two duds, The Eternals and Citadel. Shailene Woodley, one of my favorite actresses, is lovely as the wife of the deceased (Penelope) but tries too hard to be believable. That's because the story is unbelievable. Philippe Lacote directed, and perhaps with another screenplay and another director, there might not just have been heat, but fire.
